Thanks for sharing this. I joined Yahoo! broadband news team just 7 months later, and everyone you mentioned (I think) was still working in news and front page coverage at Y. Covering these types of complicated and emotionally devastating breaking news events in real time certainly takes a toll over the years.

Thanks, Jess. My recollection is that crew stayed quite intact — one of my fav teams ever. And you're right about the toll. There were times when the work was fulfilling and heavy at the same time.

Thank you for writing this. I was and continue to so proud of the Y! News team and what we did. You guys were heroes in my eyes.

Thanks Chris -- and thanks for the sanity read. Me too on that group. One of the best crews I've ever been a part of to this day.

A rich account of your first responder experience…Aggregating content before truly digesting what was happening. Learning leadership put ad revenue aside to strengthen our access to information and connectedness…Didn’t realize a Cal Rugby alum was behind the moment of Flight 93 take down. Such courage. Go Bears takes on richer meaning now.

Thanks for reading Rosalind. 100% on that Cal tie -- I member thinking about that back then.
